      When to go

The Aspen year, season by season

Aspen has the sharpest seasonal swing of any destination we book. Christmas through New Year is the most expensive week of the year anywhere in the American Rockies, while the same chalet can sit open and affordable in May.

      Two peaks: ski and summer

Winter is the headline season. Christmas and New Year set the annual ceiling and are usually gone a year ahead, with minimum stays of seven to fourteen nights; January and February bring the most reliable snow, and March adds spring break and long, warm ski days. Summer peaks in July and August around the Music Festival, when the valley is green and the evenings are cool.

      Shoulder season

The weeks that offer the most for the least. June opens the hiking and biking season as the passes clear, and September is the finest month in the valley — cool, dry, with the aspens turning through the last two weeks. One exception: the Food & Wine Classic in mid-June, which books and prices like high season.

      Frequently Asked Questions about Aspen

Everything you need to know about luxury villa rentals in this destination

Why choose Aspect over other luxury villa rental options in Aspen?

Aspect gives you more than a property — you get expert guidance, broader access, personalized service, and an added layer of protection for a high-value stay. We work directly with owners, property managers, and luxury rental partners to verify properties, pricing, and availability, and to help you choose the right home for your group. Our access also extends beyond the villas shown on our website, including many private and off-platform properties. From planning through checkout, our high-touch concierge team can assist with everything from transportation and private chefs to experiences, reservations, and special requests. And if something goes wrong, you have an experienced team advocating for you.

What are the best areas for a luxury villa rental in Aspen?

family-friendly group stays, Snowmass Village offers the largest floor plans. For maximum privacy, views, and prestige, Red Mountain estates are the standout. Our specialists can match you to the right area based on your group and priorities.

How much does it cost to rent a luxury villa or chalet in Aspen?

Nightly rates in our Aspen collection typically range from around $5,000 to $26,000, depending on the property, its size, the season, and its amenities. Peak holiday weeks — Christmas, New Year, and President's weekend — command the highest rates and sell out earliest, while summer and shoulder seasons offer stronger value on the same homes.

Do Aspen luxury rentals come with concierge service?

Yes. Every Aspect rental includes access to a 24/7 local concierge who can arrange private chefs, in-home spa and massage, ski and equipment setup, airport and mountain transfers, and curated experiences year-round.

Which Aspen rentals are best for large groups?

Several of our Aspen and Snowmass properties sleep 14 to 22 guests across generous bedroom counts, making them well suited to family reunions, group ski trips, and milestone celebrations. Our Snowmass homes in particular are built for larger parties. Tell our specialists your headcount and they'll shortlist the best fits.

Are the Aspen villas close to the slopes?

Our properties range from homes within walking distance of Aspen's core to spacious Snowmass Village villas near the mountain. Proximity to specific lifts varies by property, so let our concierge confirm exact ski access for any home you're considering — we'll match you to the right location for your group's skiing plans.

When is the best time to visit Aspen?

Winter (December through March) is peak ski season and the busiest, most expensive period. Summer and early fall bring hiking, festivals, and mild weather at better value, while March offers longer days and excellent late-season skiing.

How far in advance should I book an Aspen luxury rental?

For the Christmas and New Year holidays and President's weekend, we recommend booking six to twelve months ahead — the best homes sell out well before the season. For summer and shoulder seasons, shorter lead times are often possible; contact our team to check live availability.

Aspen Luxury Villa, Chalet & Mansion Rentals

Aspen luxury rentals are the definition of a mountain escape — contemporary chalets with floor-to-ceiling views of the Elk Mountains, grand estates on Red Mountain, and homes within walking distance of town. This guide covers where our Aspen and Snowmass villas and chalets sit, so you can match the property to your trip. Every rental is fully vetted, comes with a 24/7 local concierge, and is bookable direct with our team.

Our Aspen portfolio spans modern mountain villas, spacious Snowmass homes, and grand slopeside-adjacent estates, with amenities that typically include private hot tubs, home theaters, chef's kitchens, ski rooms, and room for large groups. Below, we break down every area we serve.

      Aspen Villa & Chalet Rentals

The town of Aspen is the heart of it all — a walkable core of world-class dining, designer boutiques, and après-ski, wrapped around four legendary mountains. Our Aspen villas and chalets put you within reach of Aspen Mountain (Ajax), the gondola, and the restaurants and galleries of downtown. This is the choice for guests who want luxury and the lifts in the same trip, whether that's a modern four-bedroom escape or a grand estate for twenty.

      Walk-to-Town & East Aspen Rentals

For guests who want to leave the car parked, our homes within walking distance of the core put Aspen's dining, nightlife, and shopping at the doorstep. Properties in East Aspen pair an easy walk into town with quiet, residential surroundings — a strong fit for those who value location and character over a slopeside address.

      Snowmass Luxury Rentals

Just up the road, Snowmass offers the largest of the four mountains and a more spacious, family-oriented base. Our Snowmass Village villas deliver roomy floor plans built for larger groups — some sleeping up to 22 guests — with quick access to sprawling terrain and Aspen's town center a short drive away. It's the natural pick for multi-family ski trips and longer stays.

      Red Mountain Estate Rentals

Known locally as "Billionaire Mountain," Red Mountain sits just north of downtown with commanding views back across Aspen and Aspen Mountain. Our Red Mountain estates are among the most exclusive and private in the valley — grand, secluded properties with the town still minutes away, ideal for guests who want scale, privacy, and a signature address.

      Modern Mountain Villas

Beyond the marquee names, our collection includes striking contemporary homes across Aspen — glass-walled living spaces, mountain-modern interiors, and outdoor decks with hot tubs built for the view. These architectural villas suit guests who want design-forward comfort as much as proximity to the slopes.

      Beyond Winter: Aspen in Summer

Aspen is a year-round destination. Beyond ski season, summer brings hiking and biking around the Maroon Bells, the Aspen Music Festival, the Food & Wine Classic, and cool mountain air when the rest of the country swelters. Many guests find summer and early fall the ideal time to visit — quieter, greener, and perfect for a mountain villa with a view. For a full season-by-season breakdown, see our guide to the best time to visit Aspen.
